Well, it has been awhile. I must say that I am notorious for starting things and then not keeping up with them.
Anyway, what has happened since my last post:
- I finished the back of the recliner and had to have my coworker finish it.
- I got married!!!!
- Classes began again
And that's about all....
I have been putting off blogging so that I could post updated pictures of he recliner, but have come to the conclusion that if I wait for that I might never have another post.
My wedding was PERFECT!!!! We were down to the wire decorating, but it couldn't have been more beautiful!! We even got to stop on the beach for a few romantic shots. I am so glad to finally have some wonderful pictures of the two of us!!!! Christa Elyce Photography did such a wonderful job. We can wait to get some of our pictures back to display in OUR apartment.

Feeling Adventurous
Tonight is the night my reupholstery adventure has begun! As you can see, this recliner was not in the best shape before I began my ambitious mission.
BEFORE
AFTER
I know it doesn't look like much, but I'll tell you what!! Boy!! I have a pile of staples the size of a miniature Mount Everest!! ( I didn't think to photograph it, but I will next time)
So, this recliner was given to Ian, by a member of his family, and you would not believe what discoveries I have found!!
The house phone just cracks me up!! I also found a bottle cap, but Ian threw it away before I could take a picture of it.
After all of that hard work, I only used a hammer, flathead screw driver, and pliers, I walked away with only a small, yet very long, scratch on my finger! Not too shabby for a first timer if I do say so myself!!
I have to be at work earlier than usual in the morning, so for now that is all the updates I have, but don't worry!! I'll keep you posted on my adventures as they continue. (and they MUST because I have a recliner in shambles on the living room floor at this very moment, so there is NO going back now!!)

Running for the Hills
So, my life has gotten pretty crazy over the past several months. Finals, slowly moving into my future apartment, working as an intern, finals, and of course having the most time consuming major on campus. Wait, did I mention finals??
A little about me: I am a senior, about to be a super senior, at Mississippi State University majoring in Interior Design. I am an intern at a local furniture manufacturing company in the commercial design department. My life is about to get even better when I marry the man of my dreams on August 11, 2012. Together my fiancé, Ian, and I have a precious all American mutt named Dallas Clark. He is our child, and thinks he is a human. Basically we are about to hit the road running and jump start our lives together in a 2 bedroom apartment in Starkville.
The summer season has begun, and instead of enjoying a typical college summer, Ian and I will be busy busy busy. Ian has his plate full with summer school, he is going to graduate in December, and making it though Mississippi OCS (I forgot to mention that he is in the Army National Guard). I, on the other hand, will be working full-time, driving to and from the coast to plan a wedding, and I am undertaking the greatest endeavor. I am going to reupholster the ugliest recliner in the world. Granted, I have no previous experience in the reupholstery department, I have concluded that working at a furniture plant gives me an upper hand. Plus, if I need help or mess it up, I have back up! As I begin this project, I will be sure to update all with pictures of my progress. Until then, the night is young and so are you! Go have some fun and come back soon!!
